How long does training take?
The most genuine answer for this is, is depends. It depends on how quickly a dogs muscle memory develops during the training process and the consistency of their owner to continue training with the homework and tips provided by us trainers. Training time is ultimately your choosing if you’d like your pet to quickly grow mentally and emotionally.
How long does Service Dog training take?
This is a tricky question as it could take up to 2 full years depending on the tasks needed to be fulfilled and mental development of a potential SD. It depends on if the selected dog is cut out mentally, physically and emotionally for a certain task you are looking for them to preform. Depends on how quickly the dog adjusts as well as their muscle memory growth and the consistency of their owner to continue training with the homework and tips provided by us trainers.
Can any dog be a Service Dog?
As long as the potential dog is medically cleared and behaviorally stable for the tasks needed for their handlers disability, they could be a potential candidate. Breed can be very important as some specific breeds are better suited for certain SD tasks needed to assist their handler. A behavioral assessment is needed and done by us trainers during a consultation. However, the animals health and medical stats must be sufficient and adequate to preform certain tasks depending on the type of service dog you are looking to have.
